The time is approaching. I leave for Spain in a little under month! Up to this point, everything has been so surreal. Going to the orientations, meeting people who I will be sharing this experience with, all of these steps have helped to prepare me for what to expect in a little over a month. In order to prepare myself further, I have been scouring Pinterest these last few months in search of any tips for traveling and experiencing life in a new country to try to calm the nerves I have about living in a new culture (so if you have any tips from experience at all, I am 100% open to tips and suggestions). But, that is why I want to study abroad.
I think that too often, especially in the U.S, we can get so comfortable in our own little bubble that we can end up drifting through life without experiencing anything new. I don't have everything figured out in my life by any means, but I know that drifting through it is not in the plan. There is so much in this world that we can experience, so I would be missing out big time if I didn't take advantage of this opportunity. Speaking of opportunity, I have the a chance to apply for a social media internship through the study abroad office while I am in Spain! I figure that this social media internship will allow me to reach more people with this blog than I ever could on my own, and I think that I have a lot to offer and share with others about my experiences. Plus, I already planned on having this blog, so why not apply?
Now that you have an idea of what this blog will be about, if you'd like, you can follow along with me on my journey through Spain! Also, I am big on authenticity and honesty, so I will be 100% real with you on what I'm feeling and experiencing!
Well, since it will be about a month 'til my next post will be up, if you would, please pray for good weather and safe travels and that I make all three of my connecting flights to Madrid!
Until then, Happy New Year!
Adventure Awaits,
Maddie
